 most days you'll find volker and donna at the goldsmithery in glenelg, shaping jewellery from raw precious metals and gemstones with traditional tools of the trade. they employ the techniques of time honoured  ancient goldsmithing, producing finely handcrafted jewellery, prized and admired for its creativity and craftsmanship by connoisseurs of rare fine art the world over.



a rich history

goldsmithing flourished during the renaissance. the convergence of cultures that gave rise to the wondrous works of the renaissance found their greatest expression in the art of the gold & silversmithing. expanding trade and increasing wealth of the european nobility saw goldsmiths enjoy the patronage of the elite as their craft found expression beyond traditional metal work.

at the goldsmithery, volker and donna sprinkmeier still practice techniques established during the renaissance, producing individual fine handcrafted jewellery, prized for its creativity and craftsmanship by so many people around the world; connoisseurs of detail and an appreciation for rare and fine pieces of art.

a proud family tradition

volker is a third generation master craftsman. his artistic passion is immediately obvious. however, he's not the only gifted craftsperson in the sprinkmeier family! his wife donna is also a skilled artisan & their children are quickly becoming accomplished in their own right as donna and volker pass down their unique skills and knowledge. read more about the history of the sprinkmeier family and goldsmithery here.
